Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian
Holds Regular Press Conference

During the press conference, a journalist asked about China's announcement of a visa-free policy for Brazil and four other countries at the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (China-CELAC Forum).

In response, Lin Jian stated that to further facilitate cross-border travel, China has decided to expand its visa-exemption program. From June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, ordinary passport holders from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay will be allowed visa-free entry into China for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, or transit stays of up to 30 days.

Lin Jian emphasized that China will adhere to high-standard opening-up and introduce more measures to continuously enhance the convenience of cross-border travel.

"We welcome more international friends to take advantage of China’s visa-free and visa facilitation policies, visit China more often, and experience its vibrant culture, rich diversity, and dynamic energy," he added.
