1.What is Guangdong Province's 144-hour visa-free transit policy?

Approved by the State Council, the implementation of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreigners within the administrative area of Guangdong Province, for 54 countries with valid international travel documents (valid for not less than three months) and 144 hours to determine the date and seat to a third country (region) interline tickets (including air tickets, boat tickets, train tickets, bus tickets to Hong Kong and Macao, etc.), foreigners can choose to choose to enter the country from Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport airports, and exit from any of the 32 ports in Guangdong Province approved by the State Council, and the transit visa-free stay area is Guangdong Province.

5.How exactly do I apply for a 144-hour visa-free transit entry at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport?

Category I

Passengers entering from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and departing from 32 passenger ports in Guangdong Province, including Baiyun Airport, to a third country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) can stay within the administrative area of Guangdong Province for 6 days from the next day of entry without a Chinese visa.

If the applicant's itinerary includes a business jet and a combined ticket cannot be issued, the applicant can apply for the procedure with written certificates issued by the business jet company stating the passenger's identity information, flight number, route itinerary, date of entry and exit, and other information.

At the time of entry, holders of valid international travel documents and tickets (including air tickets, ferry tickets, train tickets, etc.) with dates and seats to a third country (region) within 144 hours to apply for temporary entry permits at Baiyun Border Inspection Station, and upon examination and approval, they are allowed to enter the country temporarily without visas, and the period of stay permitted without visas is the 6th day from the next day of their entry.

Category II

Those who enter the country from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and exit through the 8 highway ports in Guangdong Province to Hong Kong and Macao are allowed to stay within the administrative area of Guangdong Province for 6 days from the next day of their entry without Chinese visas.

Upon entering the country, holders of valid international travel documents and bus tickets to Hong Kong and Macao within 144 hours (or air tickets to other regions via Hong Kong and Macao, vouchers of hotel booking or activities in Hong Kong and Macao, etc. which can prove that the foreigners are leaving the country for Hong Kong and Macao within 144 hours of entering the country) can apply for a temporary entry permit to Baiyun Border Inspection Station, and upon approval, they are allowed to enter the country temporarily without a visa, and the period of stay is limited to the next day of their entry, and they can stay in Guangdong Province for 6 days from the next day of their entry. The permitted period of stay is the 6th day from the next day of entry.

01. The country or territory of entry must be different from the country or territory of exit.

02.The scope and time limit of stay shall not be exceeded. If you exceed the limit of stay or overstay without authorization, you will be legally responsible and punished for illegal residence, and it will affect your application for future visas and other entry/exit documents for China.

03.If a person stays in a hotel, the hotel shall register his or her stay; if a person resides or stays in a residence other than a hotel, he or she or the person who stays with him or her shall register with the police station of the public security organ where he or she resides or with an aliens' service station, etc., within 24 hours of checking in.

       The border control authorities will not issue temporary entry permits to those whose passports or other international travel documents are valid for less than three months, or who have a record of illegal entry or exit, illegal residence or illegal employment within five years, so such persons cannot apply for a 144-hour visa-free transit
