Canton Fair: Why Did the Iranian Buyer Pick Our Powder Coated Wire Fruit Baskets & Napkin Holders?
Recently, Mr. Reza, an Iranian home goods importer with 12 years of experience met at the 138th Canton Fair, made a special trip to our production base. Impressed by our Powder Coated Wire Fruit Baskets and Modern Napkin Holders at the fair, he came to verify our strength, and finally confirmed in-depth cooperation, planning to introduce the two products as new categories to the Middle Eastern market.
At the fair, our products stood out with the fruit baskets’ smooth coating, sturdy structure and the napkin holders’ foldable, non-slip design. After comparing 8 suppliers, Mr. Reza was impressed: "The fruit basket has no burrs and meets FDA standards, fitting Middle Eastern demands." He then proposed a factory visit to confirm our production capability, a key factor for him to cooperate.
Our foreign trade team had briefed him on core advantages at the fair: the fruit baskets use high-strength steel wire with copper plating + powder spraying (passing 24-hour salt spray tests); the napkin holders have adjustable width and detachable design. The factory visit was to let him verify these strengths in person.
After the fair, our team quickly arranged the visit. On the day, the Foreign Trade Director accompanied Mr. Reza to core workshops. In the CNC bending workshop, automated equipment bent steel wire into fruit basket shapes with ≤0.5mm error. "It ensures size uniformity and supply efficiency," he praised, affirming our equipment precision.

In the welding and polishing workshop, he focused on manual polishing. Workers polished welded edges carefully, with hand-feel inspections to avoid burrs. "Many suppliers skip this step, causing safety risks. Your attention to details impresses me," he said, filming the process.
In the spraying workshop, technicians showed the "copper plating + powder spraying" process, did on-site adhesion tests and presented 24-hour salt spray reports. Learning the powder meets FDA standards and rust resistance exceeds industry average, he filmed the process: "Quality is visible, boosting my confidence."
In the Modern Napkin Holder area, he took interest in the new foldable model and proposed adding Middle Eastern-style colors. Our R&D staff promised sample completion within 15 days. "This quick response strengthens my cooperation determination," he said.
Post-visit, negotiations were held. Mr. Reza noted Middle Eastern demand for modern storage items is surging. He plans to sell our products in chain stores and online, with initial orders of 5,000 fruit baskets and 3,000 napkin holders .Both sides agreed on pricing, delivery and quality assurance. He shared his promotion plan: using factory videos for social media promotion and setting up in-store display areas to show the two products’ practicality and aesthetics.
This cooperation is a breakthrough in the Middle Eastern market, proving our products’ competitiveness. Our Foreign Trade Director said: "From Canton Fair to factory signing, it’s a quality and market consensus. We’ll deepen the Middle Eastern market with these core products for win-win."
Currently, we’ve started producing customized samples for Mr. Reza, to be sent next week. Both sides will take this as a start, expand cooperation categories and build a high-quality brand in the Middle Eastern household storage market.
